The short version
6 Degrees runs no advertising, no cross-site tracking and no third-party analytics cookies. Everything we store in your browser is either required to sign you in or is the preference you set below.
What is actually stored
- Sign-in session (strictly necessary) — stored in your browser by our authentication provider so you stay signed in between pages. Clearing it signs you out.
- Cookie preference (strictly necessary) — a single value recording the choice you made, so we stop asking.
- Edge security cookie (strictly necessary) —
__cf_bm, set by our content delivery network to distinguish real visitors from automated traffic. It is short-lived, HttpOnly and Secure, and is not used for advertising.
Third-party requests
The application loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. That request reveals your IP address to Google but sets no cookie on our behalf. No other third-party resource is loaded on the signed-out pages.
Your choice
You can change or clear your stored choice at any time. Because we use no optional tracking, choosing "Essential only" does not reduce any feature — it simply records that optional storage must stay off if we ever introduce it.
